No South Korean Casualties Reported in Powerful Quake in Indonesia

Seoul, MINA — No South Korean casualties have been reported in the aftermath of a powerful earthquake in Indonesia’s tourist destination of Lombok Island, onhap reported, citing Seoul’s foreign ministry Sunday.

A 6.4-magnitude quake hit the Indonesia’s island early Sunday, killing at least 10 people and injuring scores, according to foreign news reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the South Korean Embassy in Indonesia has been checking the safety of South Koreans staying there to look into potential casualties or property damage.

The government said it is providing Korean nationals there with information on what to do in case of an emergency situation.
