No Incident Reported during X’mas Services

Jakarta, MINA – Jakarta (ANTARA News) – Police Chief General Tito Karnavian has not received any information related to the incident during Christmas Eve celebrations throughout Indonesia.

“Until now (Sunday) there has been no information about an incident, meaning that it is safe,” said Karnavian in Jakarta Sunday.

Karnavian said there was some traffic density flowing homecoming holiday Christmas and New Year on a number of segments such as Java`s Northern Coastal route (Pantura), Puncak Bogor and highway to Bandung.

But officers were able to unravel vehicle congestion and will arrange, as well as evaluate in the field.

Karnavian expressed gratitude to Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, the central government and local government that supported the implementation of the security of Christmas and New Year celebrations in order to run smoothly.

The Polri chief ensured the police and TNI officers assisted by local government will secure the celebration of Christmas and New Year to end especially the custodian of places of worship.

On that occasion, the Chief of Police with Indonesian Defense (TNI) Commander and Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Idham Azis visited Menteng HKBP Central Jakarta Church was greeted by Central Jakarta Police Chief and Dandim Central Jakarta.

After checking security, Chief of Police and TNI Commander proceeded to Imanuel Church at Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur Central Jakarta.

The last group of Polri and TNI officers reviewed the security at Central Jakarta Cathedral Church which will be greeted by the church officials.
