Tel Aviv, MINA – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Saturday that there are indications Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei may have been killed in Israeli-US strikes targeting his residence in Tehran, as the conflict between the two nations intensifies.
“This morning, in a powerful surprise attack, we destroyed the compound of the tyrant Khamenei,” Netanyahu said in a video statement, without providing evidence to support the claim. “There are many signs that this tyrant is no longer.”
Netanyahu asserted that senior Iranian figures had been “eliminated” in the strikes, including members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and individuals involved in Iran’s nuclear program.
“We will continue. In the next few days, we will hit thousands more targets of the terror regime,” the Israeli premier vowed.

The US has long demanded that Iran abandon its nuclear program, though Tehran maintains its activities are for civilian purposes only.
In his statement, Netanyahu also urged Iranians to “go to the streets to … topple this regime,” echoing similar calls made by US President Donald Trump. The remarks signal a coordinated effort by the two allies to encourage internal dissent within Iran amid the military campaign.
The United States and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran early Saturday morning, claiming it was meant to remove “threats” posed by the Iranian “regime.”
In response, Iran has targeted Israel and US bases throughout the region with missiles and drones.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Saturday that Iran’s strikes on US military bases in the Middle East “do not target specific countries but are limited to military sites,” attempting to frame the retaliation as narrowly focused on military assets rather than civilian infrastructure.
The dueling claims and continued exchanges of fire raise the prospect of a prolonged conflict with potentially far-reaching consequences for regional stability. Neither US nor Israeli officials have provided independent verification of Khamenei’s status, and Iranian authorities have not officially commented on the supreme leader’s condition.[]
