Palestinian mourners carried the three bodies throughout the city of Jenin on Saturday.

Palestinian security officials said Israeli forces raided a house in the Jenin refugee camp during the early hours of Saturday to arrest Hamza Abu Alheja, member of the Hamas resistance movement.

The Israeli occupation troops killed the 20-year-old after he refused to leave the house, according to Press TV report quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

The incident was followed by a clash between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces where two others were killed and 14 others injured. The two were later identified as Mahmoud Abu Zeina and Yazan Jabarin, both in their early 20s.

The office of Acting Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack, saying it would threaten the so-called peace talks between Palestinians and Israelis ahead of the April deadline.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, a spokesman for Abbas, said the attack was part of a “systematic Israeli policy aimed at destroying everything.”

Palestinian officials had prior to this latest attack said that Israeli troops have killed 57 Palestinians and wounded nearly 900 others since the resumption of talks in July.

Abbas said on Thursday that the US-mediated talks had reached an “impasse” because of Tel Aviv’s “settlement activity.”

US Secretary of State John Kerry brokered the negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians after a three-year gap. Kerry has given the two sides a nine-month deadline to reach a deal.

The Israeli regime is reportedly pushing ahead with plans for more than 2,000 new illegal settler units in six settlements in the occupied West Bank. (T/E01/IR)
