MOSSAD AGENTS KIDNAP PALESTINIAN FROM EGYPTIAN SINAI PENINSULA

Gaza, 15 Sha’ban 1434/24 June 2013 (MINA) – Israeli intelligence (Mossad) agents kidnapped a Palestinian man from the Egyptian Sinai peninsula on Saturday (22/6), his family said.

The family of 27-year-old Wael Abu Reida as saying they received a phone call from an unknown person who said that he was from the Mossad and that Wael was kidnapped and was in an Israeli jail, Local sources said, according to Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reports monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

The family said that Wael went to Egypt in the company of his wife for medical treatment but was lured by the Mossad into Sinai where he was abducted.

The family, living in Khan Younis south of the Gaza Strip, asked the Red Cross to ascertain Wael’s presence in an Israeli jail.

Mossad is the national intelligency agency of Israel. It is one of the main entities in the Israeli Interlligence Community.

Ahrar: 1227 Palestinians Kidnapped, 16 Killed since the beginning of 2013         Meanwhile, The Ahrar Center for Prisoners’ Studies and Human Rights reported that Israeli soldiers kidnapped 1227 Palestinians, including children, women, elderly, intellectuals and MPs, since the beginning of this year, and killed 16 Palestinians.
In its report, the center confirmed that most of the arrest cases were documented in West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, while 15 arrest cases reported in Gaza strip.
        The center said that the number of Palestinians kidnapped so far this year is less than the number of Palestinians kidnapped in the same timeframe least year as the army kidnapped 1340 Palestinians.
        The center stated that al-Khalil district, southern West Bank, has witnessed the largest number of arrests as the army kidnapped 310 (%25) Palestinians this year, following by Jerusalem where the army kidnapped 243 (%20) Palestinians.
        In the Nablus district, northern occupied West Bank, the army kidnapped 160 (%13) Palestinians.
        Ahrar reported that the army also kidnapped 4 MPs in the West Bank since the beginning of 2013, noting that 16 Palestinian MPs and ministers are held in Israel jails. Soldiers also kidnapped several intellectuals, students, and political leaders.
        Meanwhile, 16 Palestinians were killed since the beginning of this year, including 12 from West Bank and 4 in the Gaza Strip.
        Two Palestinian martyrs were jailed in Israeli prisons. Arafat Jaradat, from al-Khalil, was tortured to death in custody. Maysara Abu Hamdiya, 64, from al-Khalil, was also died in Israeli jails due to the Israeli deliberate medical negligence.
        Fuad Al-Khuffash, the director of the center, pointed out to the Israeli daily raid and search campaigns in the West Bank, calling on the PA to act seriously to such Israeli provocative policies. (T/P03/E1)
