KUWAITI PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION MEETS MORSI TO DISCUSS VARIOUS ISSUES

      Cairo, 5 Rabiul Awwal 1434/17 January 2013 (MINA) – Kuwait’s National Assembly delegation met with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, late on Wednesday, to discuss an array of issues promoting bilateral ties.

      Deputy Speaker Mubarak Al-Khurainij, who headed the Kuwaiti delegation told KUNA as quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) that he relayed greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Speaker of the Parliament Ali Al-Rashed during the meeting with President Morsi.

      He also praised the supporting role of Egypt to all of Kuwait’s just causes; this is considered an indication, Al-Khurainij continued, of the solid ties that bind the two countries together.

      The Deputy Speaker also referred to the huge role played by the Kuwait Fund For Arab Economic Development that supported many projects in Egypt.

       President Morsi, meanwhile, expressed appreciation to the Kuwaiti leadership for supporting many Arab causes, especially the Palestinian cause. He also stressed that the security of the gulf region is a national responsibility that his country does not take it lightly.

       The meeting also shed light on facilitating all procedures for Kuwaiti investors in Egypt in order to elevate the struggling economy of the North African country.

       The Kuwaiti delegation that included Secretary General of Kuwait’s National Assembly Allam Al-Kandari, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt Dr. Rashid Al-Hamad and Advisor at Kuwait’s Embassy in Cairo Mohammad AL-Mohammad also met with Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil. (T/R-020/R-006)
