Amman, MINA – Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stressed the need to ensure full protection for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and rejected Israel’s escalating measures in the occupied West Bank during talks in Amman on Wednesday.

The meeting, held at Basman Palace as part of Subianto’s visit to Jordan, focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and regional stability, according to a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court.

King Abdullah commended Indonesia’s role in addressing regional challenges, particularly its support for achieving peace based on the two-state solution and its commitment to protecting Palestinians in Gaza. Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s dedication to lasting peace, stating it is “the only solution for achieving stability in the region.”

The Indonesian president expressed his country’s support for an independent Palestinian state and for implementing the agreement to end the war in Gaza. He warned of “the serious consequences of continued escalations on the region, and particularly efforts to restore stability in Gaza.”

King Abdullah emphasized rejection of Israel’s escalatory measures aimed at expanding settlements and controlling land in the West Bank, and warned against continued violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The Jordanian monarch also underlined the importance of dialogue and diplomatic channels in reducing tensions related to Iran, and stressed the need to support Syria and Lebanon in maintaining security, stability, and sovereignty.

Subianto departed Jordan on Wednesday, concluding his second visit to the kingdom in less than a year, following a previous trip in April 2025. He was seen off at Marka Airport by King Abdullah and Crown Prince Hussein.[]
