Ramallah, MINA – Israeli occupation forces stormed Birzeit University north of Ramallah at dawn on Monday, assaulting a security guard and ransacking a faculty building in the latest incursion into the Palestinian campus, according to Wafa.
Security sources said that Israeli troops, backed by military reinforcements, entered the university grounds and beat guard Bashir Za’loul al-Khatib, 40. They also raided the eastern wing of the Faculty of Sports, destroying its contents.
The sources said such incursions into Birzeit University have become increasingly common, involving student arrests, staff assaults, destruction of property belonging to student activities, and confiscation of materials and equipment.[]
