Gaza, MINA – A Palestinian citizen was killed by Israeli gunfire east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as the Israeli occupation army continues its violations of the fragile ceasefire for the 143rd consecutive day, PIC reports.
Local sources reported that the body of the martyr was evacuated to Nasser Hospital after being shot by Israeli forces in the as-Satar ash-Sharqi area of Khan Yunis.
In a separate incident, Israeli tanks opened fire east of Khan Yunis, while Israeli gunboats attacked the coast of Gaza City. Sounds of gunfire were also reported in other areas of the Gaza Strip overnight, further underscoring the ongoing volatility in the region despite the nominal truce.
The killing marks another escalation in the persistent breach of the ceasefire agreement, which has done little to halt the daily violence faced by Palestinian civilians in the enclave.[]
