Beirut, MINA – The Israeli occupation army continued its attacks on towns in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, amid intensive flights by warplanes and drones over the area, artillery shelling and explosions that targeted several locations.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the towns of Haddatha and Baraachit in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatieh governorate came under intermittent artillery shelling.
Israeli occupation forces also carried out two explosions in the wooded areas of Beit Yahoun and Aita al-Jabal in the same district. The agency added that an Israeli Merkava tank fired two shells at dawn toward a house in the al-Deir area of Baraachit.
In Nabatieh district, Israeli artillery shelling targeted the towns of Kfar Tibnit and Zawtar al-Sharqiya, while shelling also struck al-Mansouri in Tyre district, southern Lebanon. The shelling coincided with heavy flights by Israeli fighter jets over southern areas, while drones flew at very low altitude over the Marjeyoun area in Nabatieh governorate.

The attacks come amid continued Israeli violations in southern Lebanon, despite the two countries signing, under US sponsorship on June 26, a “framework formula” agreement that provides for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory in return for the deployment of the Lebanese army there and the disarmament of Hezbollah.[]
