Israel–US Attacks on Iran are a Real Threat to Global Peace and Order

Jakarta, MINA – The Chairman of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation at the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), Prof. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, strongly condemned the military attacks by Israel and the United States against Iran. He described the actions as a real threat to efforts to strengthen genuine peace and world order.

In a statement to the media on Sunday, Prof. Sudarnoto said that the victims of the hegemonic and imperialistic ambitions of Israel and the United States are not only Iran, but also the Gulf region and other parts of the world that could be negatively and destructively affected.

“This is indeed part of a larger geopolitical configuration in which Israel and the United States are the parties that must be held accountable,” he said.

According to him, the attacks represent a systematic effort to weaken Iran’s strategic position in the region, while also hindering Iran’s support for the Palestinian struggle.

“So, this is a way to exert political pressure so that Israel’s regional dominance over Palestine can truly be secured,” he added.

Prof. Sudarnoto also assessed that the attacks demonstrate that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is in fact a destroyer of peace. The Board of Peace (BoP) is increasingly losing its moral, political, and even legal legitimacy because it has been unable to realize genuine peace and justice.

“Trump is truly an actor who has hijacked the word ‘peace’ for his hegemonic and imperialistic ambitions. With the attacks on Iran, Trump and his BoP cannot be trusted as a body that fights for peace and the independence of Palestine,” he stressed.

He warned that the U.S.–Israel aggression could potentially trigger a regional war, particularly in the Middle East. According to him, such a situation would benefit the interests of Israel and the United States because it could weaken the region and ultimately place Palestine and the Middle East in general under their control.

Prof. Sudarnoto also called on Indonesia not to become involved in the conflict. He urged the Indonesian government to firmly reject all forms of military aggression, uphold international law, and advocate for a peaceful solution based on justice.[]
