Tel Aviv, MINA – Israel has once again sparked outrage in the Islamic world by threatening to kill anyone who is elected to replace Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
This dangerous provocation comes amid rising military tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv, further exposing the true nature of the occupying regime in violating international diplomatic norms. KAN media reported on Wednesday.
The threatening statement was made by several high-ranking Israeli military and intelligence officials, who openly stated that they would target any figure who shares Khamenei’s vision in supporting the Palestinian resistance.
This move is seen as a desperate attempt by the Zionists to create political uncertainty within Iran and weaken the morale of the “Axis of Resistance” in the Middle East.

In response to these threats, Tehran emphasized that its leadership structure does not depend on any one individual and will remain consistent in supporting the struggle for the independence of Al-Quds.
Military analysts say that Tel Aviv’s rhetoric will only trigger stronger unity among resistance factions, given Israel’s long history of failed attempts to dampen the spirit of intifada through character assassination and physical attacks.
The threat came after a series of cyber attacks and sabotage against Iranian nuclear facilities, which are strongly suspected to have been orchestrated by the Mossad intelligence service.
Israel consistently views Iran as an existential threat, mainly because of Tehran’s unwavering support for Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, which continue to resist the Zionist occupation fiercely.

The succession of leadership in Iran is a highly secretive process, constitutionally regulated by the Assembly of Experts. Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran has shown remarkable resilience to external pressure, including during the transition of leadership from Imam Khomeini to Ayatollah Khamenei in 1989.[]
