Gaza, MINA – Israel is increasingly entrenching what is known as the “Yellow Line” inside Gaza, effectively transforming it into a de facto boundary through expanded military deployment and permanent infrastructure, according to recent analyses based on satellite imagery and security sources, as reported by the Palestinian Information Center.

The data indicates that about 54 percent of Gaza’s area now falls under Israeli control, with forces continuing to push beyond the declared line by demolishing buildings, displacing residents, and installing concrete barriers and earthworks stretching for kilometers.

Israeli forces have established at least 32 military sites across the Strip, including seven new positions built since the October 2025 ceasefire. Some sites have electricity, telecommunication, and engineering services, suggesting long-term presence.

As a result, around 2.1 million Palestinians are now confined to less than half the territory they previously inhabited, with hundreds of thousands living in tents or damaged buildings amid declining humanitarian aid.

According to UN data, at least 224 Palestinians, including women and children, have been martyred near or east of the line since late February, in what has been described as a recurring pattern of targeting civilians approaching military zones.

Medical organizations reported treating large numbers of civilians injured while carrying out daily activities, such as fetching water or attempting to return home, as the shifting boundary has placed essential services inside dangerous areas.

Despite US-backed proposals that included deploying an international stabilization force, no such plan has been implemented.

Meanwhile, discussions over disarming Hamas remain ongoing, as Israel maintains its military presence across large parts of Gaza.

The Israeli military said its forces are operating along the Yellow Line under ceasefire directives, describing the area as a high-risk operational zone and claiming that only immediate threats are targeted.[]
