Ramallah, MINA – The Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies confirmed on Monday that the Israeli occupation authority continues to kill Palestinian prisoners inside its prisons, pointing to the martyrdom of dozens of prisoners over the past three years, the Palestine Information Center reports.
The center said the occupation has killed 91 prisoners whose identities have been announced, while concealing the fate of dozens of others from the Gaza Strip, some of whom are believed to have been martyred during the first months of the war.
The center clarified that the names and circumstances of the martyrdom of prisoners from Gaza are subject to the crime of enforced disappearance.
It noted that this ban on visits has isolated prisoners from the outside world, preventing any knowledge of their incarceration conditions, and confirmed that reports, including Israeli reports, indicate that the number of killed prisoners is larger than the announced figures.

The center warned against the continuation of the series of killings inside prisons, citing persistent causes including torture, starvation, medical neglect, and severe conditions that prisoners are forced to endure. It added that Israeli authorities detain about 9,500 Palestinian prisoners in severe and inhumane conditions, including more than one-third held without charge.
The center also reported that Shin Bet officers use severe and lethal torture methods during interrogation to extract information, using treatment, food, and sleep as pressure tactics to force confessions that lead to long prison sentences.
The Palestine Center renewed its demand for urgent international intervention to protect prisoners from the risk of death, stop policies of torture and medical neglect, and compel the occupation to adhere to international law and human rights charters.[]
