Al-Quds, MINA – Israeli occupation authorities maintained the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for the eighth straight day on Saturday, preventing Palestinian worshippers from accessing the holy site during the month of Ramadan.
The compound was first shut down by Israeli forces last Saturday morning, forcing worshippers to leave and barring them from performing the Isha and Taraweeh prayers. The closure coincided with a broader lockdown imposed across the West Bank, following a large-scale military attack launched by Israel and the United States against Iran.
For the third consecutive week, worshippers were also prohibited from holding Friday prayers at the mosque, marking a rare and severe restriction.
According to official records, Israeli authorities have imposed a full closure of Al-Aqsa by official decree on Fridays only five times since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967.

The ongoing closure has drawn widespread condemnation from Palestinian officials and religious leaders, who view it as a dangerous escalation and an attack on Islamic sanctity.[]
