Gaza, MINA – Khaled Al-Batsh, a senior leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and coordinator of Gaza’s national and Islamic forces stated on Thursday that his faction will support and closely monitor the work of the newly formed National Committee for the Administration of Gaza.
In statements to reporters, Al-Batsh described the committee’s formation as “an urgent step and a bridge forward.” He clarified the factions’ stance, saying, “We will not stop at simply supporting the national committee. We will monitor its work and performance, and provide help and guidance where needed.”
He emphasized that while factions reserve comment on US President Donald Trump’s separate peace council for now, they would not obstruct the national committee’s work.
Al-Batsh called for the committee to return to Gaza immediately to begin implementing recovery, community relief, and reconstruction plans. He also urged broader Palestinian national unity to end political divisions and rebuild a political system based on partnership.
