Doha, MINA – An Iranian ballistic missile struck the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest US military installation in the Middle East, late on Tuesday, according to Qatar’s Defense Ministry, though no casualties were reported.
In a statement, the ministry said Qatar was targeted by two ballistic missiles launched from Iran. Air defense systems successfully intercepted one of the missiles, while the second fell on the base, located southwest of the capital Doha, without causing any human losses. The statement did not specify whether the missile caused material damage to the facility.
The ministry affirmed that the Qatari Armed Forces possess the full capability to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territory and remain prepared to respond firmly to any external threat. It also urged citizens, residents, and visitors to remain calm, follow official instructions, and rely on verified information rather than rumors.
Earlier on Tuesday, the ministry had provided a broader overview of the aerial threat faced by Qatar, reporting that it had detected three cruise missiles, 101 ballistic missiles, and 39 suicide drones heading toward Qatari airspace since the start of the Iranian retaliatory campaign. It stated that all missiles and 24 of the drones were intercepted.

The strike on Al-Udeid is the latest in a series of Iranian attacks on Gulf states hosting US assets. Tensions have skyrocketed across the region since Saturday, when the US and Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iran, an offensive that has reportedly killed nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top military officials. Tehran has responded with sustained drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and US military installations in the Gulf.[]
