Tehran, MINA – A senior Iranian military commander said Sunday that the country’s armed forces are prepared to confront any level of threat with firm determination, amid ongoing regional tensions.
Brig. Gen. Bahman Behmard, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, made the remarks during a meeting with air force commanders and personnel to mark Iran’s Air Force Day. The event was attended by Maj. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi, chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces.
Behmard said Iran’s air force remains resilient despite equipment and technology sanctions, as well as hard and soft warfare pressures.
He rejected Western narratives portraying a divide between an advanced West and a backward Iran, saying the air force is built on principles of agility and deterrence and is capable of responding to both regional and extra-regional threats.

In his speech, Behmard also referred to the air force’s actions during a 12-day war with Israel. He said the force carried out air patrols and offensive drone operations, including one of the largest air attacks conducted against Israeli targets in a short period.[]
