Tehran, MINA – A joint operation by Iran’s Navy and Air Force has reportedly succeeded in repelling a United States amphibious assault ship in the latest military operation amid escalating conflict in the region.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the operation targeted various strategic US and Israeli assets, including command centers, logistics hubs, and military-industrial infrastructure.

The attack is part of a series of retaliatory actions by Iran following earlier strikes carried out by the two countries, Tasnim reported on Tuesday.

In the operation, Iran reportedly launched cruise missiles that struck an Israel-linked cargo ship, causing a massive fire. In addition, ballistic missiles were said to have hit several key targets in Israel, including in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Be’er Sheva.

The IRGC also revealed that a US Navy amphibious assault ship, identified as LHA-7, was a primary target of the attack. The vessel, which carries thousands of personnel and is equipped with combat helicopters, was reportedly forced to retreat toward the southern Indian Ocean following waves of Iranian strikes.

The attack highlights Iran’s increasing military capability in conducting coordinated cross-domain operations. Previously, Iran was also reported to have maintained its military strength despite continuous attacks, including through the use of mobile defense systems and underground bunkers.

Iran’s success in repelling the US amphibious vessel could potentially alter the dynamics of the conflict in the region, particularly in terms of maritime dominance and strategic routes.[]
