Tehran, MINA – Iran has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) warning of restricted and hazardous airspace due to live-fire military drills near the Strait of Hormuz, Anadolu Agency reported on Tuesday.
According to the notice, the live-fire military activity will take place as part of ongoing drills in the vicinity of the strategic waterway between January 27 and January 29. The exercises will be conducted within a circular area with a radius of five nautical miles.
Iranian authorities stated that the affected airspace, extending from ground level up to 25,000 feet, will be restricted throughout the duration of the drills and considered dangerous for air navigation.
The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Earlier, US Air Forces Central (AFCENT) said it would conduct a multi-day readiness exercise across the US Central Command area of responsibility to demonstrate rapid deployment and sustainment capabilities.

Washington has reiterated that all options, including military action, remain on the table in dealing with Tehran, as the US and Israel seek to pressure Iran’s ruling system.
Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that any US attack would trigger a swift and comprehensive response.[]
