INDONESIAN TO ATTEND UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Jakarta, 9 Dhulhijjah 1436/23 September 2015 (MINA) – Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla left Jakarta for the United States early Wednesday morning to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

When arriving in New York before attending the UN General Assembly, Kalla will perform Ied Adha prayer at Al-Hikmah mosque and then have a gathering with Indonesian community in the United States.

The vice president is scheduled to deliver his speech before the UN General Assembly on September 26, 2015. Antaranews quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Besides, Kalla will also deliver his speech in a joint session with US President Barack Obama and the Dutch prime minister.

During his working visit to the US, the Indonesian vice president will also hold bilateral meeting with Croatian President Kolindra Grabar Kitarovic, and Bulgarian President Rosen Pleyneliev.

More than 150 world leaders are expected to attend the UN Sustainable Development Summit from September 25-27 at UN headquarters in New York to formally adopt an ambitious new sustainable development agenda.

This momentous agenda will serve as the launch pad for action by the international community and by national governments to promote shared prosperity and well-being for all over the next 15 years. (T/P008/R03)
