Jakarta, MINA – The Pati United Community Alliance (AMPB) has confirmed that their protest in front of the DPR RI building in Jakarta on Thursday will proceed peacefully and focus on two key demands related to anti-corruption efforts.
AMPB Coordinator Supriyono, also known as Botok, stated the two demands are the immediate passage of the Asset Forfeiture Bill and the implementation of the death penalty for corruptors.
“We have no intention of causing unrest in Jakarta. We support our colleagues in the Jabodetabek area who will hold the August 27 action,” Botok said when met in Jakarta on Wednesday, Republika online reported.
He emphasized that AMPB’s action carries no agenda to unseat President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“There is no call to oust Prabowo-Gibran. We support the Prabowo administration to become better,” he said.
According to him, AMPB came to Jakarta to convey public aspirations regarding anti-corruption efforts while also supporting similar actions held in the Jabodetabek area.
Botok said AMPB had previously conveyed similar aspirations in Pati Regency on August 13, asking the Pati Regency DPRD to propose that the Asset Forfeiture Bill be immediately passed.
After learning of planned actions with similar demands in Jakarta, AMPB decided to attend and convey these aspirations in front of the DPR RI.

He stated that the arrival of Pati residents to Jakarta was also intended to provide input to the DPR RI regarding the deliberation of the Asset Forfeiture Bill.
“We came to the DPR RI to provide input so that the bill can be immediately passed,” he said.
Botok confirmed that AMPB’s action would be centered in front of the DPR RI building and would not expand to other locations. He also stressed that AMPB is not inviting groups or the public to commit anarchic acts during the expression of aspirations.
“We will focus our action in front of the DPR RI and focus on those two demands,” he said.[]
