Hyundai Heavy Bags 50 Billion-Won Order from Indonesia

Hyundai Heavy will supply 21 HiMSEN engines and associated equipment to seven power plants across the archipelago nation from September to March 2019-Yonhap photo.

Seou, MINA – Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., a major South Korean shipbuilder, said Wednesday that it has clinched a deal worth 50 billion won (US$46 million) to supply 21 engines to power plants in Indonesia, Yonhap reported.

Under the deal with Indonesia’s state power utility, PT PLN, Hyundai Heavy will supply 21 HiMSEN engines and associated equipment to seven power plants across the archipelago nation from September to March 2019.

The HiMSEN engine, a medium-sized unit developed by Hyundai Heavy, is used for ship propulsion and power generation in onshore power plants.

The engines to be installed in Indonesia can both run on diesel and natural gas, according to the company.
