FOUR HELD OVER ATTACK ON PARIS KOSHER SHOP

Paris, 19 Jumadil Awwal 1436/10 March 2015 (MINA) –  Four people have been arrested as part of an investigation into the gun attack on a kosher supermarket in Paris in January in which four people were killed, according to French media reports.

A female police officer and three men were apprehended on Monday over their connections to gunman Amedy Coulibaly, who was killed by security forces on Jan. 9 in a shootout at the scene in eastern Paris.

The policewoman, who was posted at Rosny-sous-Bois near Paris and who converted to Islam two years ago, had been suspended from her duties in early February, Europe 1 radio reported, Anadolu Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

A man described as her boyfriend, who was reported to be wanted on separate drug charges and had allegedly been a confidant to Coulibaly, was also detained, according to French media.

The man is alleged to have had contact with Coulibaly – who also shot dead 27-year-old policewoman Clarissa Jean-Philipp in Montrouge on Jan.  – shortly before the attack on the supermarket.

Four other people suspected of supplying arms and vehicles to Coulibaly were held for questioning at the end of January.

Coulibaly’s girlfriend Hayat Boumeddiene is believed to have fled to Syria. (T/P010/P3)
