Hamas praised the commanders as representing, a complete school of leadership and military preparation,” models of “iron will and steadfastness,” and exemplars of “loyalty, sacrifice, and devotion.” The movement emphasized that their legacy has been integral since Hamas’ founding over three decades ago.
