Gaza, MINA – Hamas announced on Monday the death of five senior commanders from its armed wing, the Al‑Qassam Brigades, describing them as “heroes martyred while fighting the ‘Al‑Aqsa Flood’ battle.”
In a statement, the movement honored the commanders as key figures in a long journey of resistance, planning, preparation, and building strength in defense of Palestine, its people, and its holy sites.
The deceased commanders were identified as: Mohamed as‑Sinwar, Chief of Staff of the Al‑Qassam Brigades, successor to Mohamed al‑Deif. Mohamed Shabana, Commander of the Rafah Brigade. Hakam al‑Issa, overseer of combat weapons and services. Raed Saad, Head of military manufacturing. Hudaifa al‑Kahlout (Abu Obeida), spokesman for the Al‑Qassam Brigades and head of military media.
Hamas praised the commanders as representing, a complete school of leadership and military preparation,” models of “iron will and steadfastness,” and exemplars of “loyalty, sacrifice, and devotion.” The movement emphasized that their legacy has been integral since Hamas’ founding over three decades ago.

The statement further asserted that Israeli crimes against Palestinian leaders and national figures would not break the will of the resistance or divert it from its path.[]
