Gaza, MINA – Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi stressed on Sunday that any governing committee overseeing the Gaza Strip must be entirely composed of Palestinians and reflect the will of the Palestinian people.
His remarks came in response to terms within the second phase of the ceasefire proposal aimed at ensuring a complete halt to Israeli aggression and easing the suffering of Gaza’s civilians.
Mardawi warned that the Israeli occupation continues to violate its commitments under the ceasefire agreement, persisting with killings and starvation tactics against Palestinians in Gaza.
He urged the United States to exert pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to fully implement the agreement without delay.

Mardawi also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and not remain silent in the face of Israel’s ongoing crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip.[]
