Gaza, MINA – The head of a Palestinian committee responsible for running the Gaza Strip said Monday that the panel is awaiting a meeting of US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” next week to confirm pledged funding for relief and reconstruction efforts in the enclave, Anadolu Agency reported.
“We are working on an appropriate plan for relief and the entry of health and educational supplies into the Gaza Strip,” Ali Shaath, head of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), told Egypt’s state-run Al-Qahera News channel after visiting the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing.
Shaath said the committee has held meetings with the European Union, the United Nations, and Arab countries to discuss support for Gaza and has received funding pledges for relief, recovery, and reconstruction.
The Board of Peace is scheduled to meet in Washington on Feb. 19 to confirm the necessary financial and relief commitments.

He added that he inspected the Egyptian side of Rafah crossing to review logistical procedures for facilitating Palestinian movement. Egypt, he noted, is making “major efforts to deliver large quantities of aid into the Gaza Strip” and implementing logistical measures at Rafah to ease entry and exit.
Under tight Israeli restrictions, Israel reopened the Palestinian side of Rafah on Feb. 2, after occupying it since May 2024.
However, in violation of the ceasefire effective since Oct. 10, 2025, Israel continues to block agreed quantities of food, medicine, medical supplies, shelter materials, and prefabricated housing from entering Gaza.
Israel also carries out daily attacks, killing 581 Palestinians and wounding 1,553 others, most of them women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry’s latest figures released Monday.

Shaath expressed gratitude to Egypt for its efforts to prevent Palestinian displacement and support the right of return to Gaza.
The NCAG is a non-political body tasked with managing daily civil service affairs in Gaza, composed of 11 Palestinian figures plus its chairman. It began work in mid-January from Cairo and has not yet started operating within Gaza.[]
