Gaza, MINA – Four Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City on Saturday, in what local sources describe as a new violation of the ongoing ceasefire agreement.

A medical source told Anadolu that the fatalities occurred when an airstrike hit a civilian car on Al-Rashid Street west of Gaza City.

The Israeli army claimed the attack targeted and killed Raed Saad, a senior Hamas member described by Israeli Army Radio as the “second-ranking figure” in Hamas within the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz stated the strike was a response to a bomb explosion that injured two Israeli soldiers in southern Gaza.

Hamas condemned the attack, calling it a “criminal violation of the ceasefire agreement” and accused Israel of deliberately seeking to undermine the truce. The group urged mediators and guarantor countries to take action against these violations.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, the Israeli army has repeatedly violated the agreement, resulting in at least 386 Palestinian fatalities and 1,018 injuries. The overall death toll from Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 2023 exceeds 70,300, with more than 171,000 injured.[]
