Foreign Minister Retno Leaves for Jordan for talks on Preparation of OIC Summit

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi left for Jordan on Sunday morning, to hold bilateral talks with the Palestinian and Jordanian foreign ministers in Amman.

“In Amman I will meet Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Malki for talks on preparations for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Extraordinary Summit to be held on December 13 in Istanbul,” Retno said shortly before her departure at Soetta Airport on Sunday (10/12).

Erdogan as the current OIC Chairman has called on OIC member states to come together to display joint action and coordination among Muslim countries.

He has discussed the matter with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and leaders of other Muslim countries, including Indoneia, Malaysia, Tunisia, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. (T/R04/RS5)
