FM Retno to Meet FM Russia to Discuss Palestinian Issue

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno L.P Marsudi arrived in Russia on Monday (12/3) to meet Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov for a discussion on international and Palestinian issues.

The bilateral visit is the first ministerial visit since 2010, MINA reported, citing a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is also a reciprocal visit for the official visit of Russian Foreign Minister to Indonesia for the first time in August 2017.

In a meeting with the FM Russia, Retno will also discuss a series of strategic issues to enhance bilateral cooperation especially economic cooperation.

Regarding economic cooperation, the value of Indonesia-Russia trade increased by 20 percent from 2016. The value of trade between the two countries in 2017 reached USD 2.5 billion.

Upon arrival in Moscow, FM Retno was greeted by Indonesian Ambassador to Moscow, Wahid Supriadi and Russian Ambassador designated for Indonesia, Lyudmila Vorobyeva.(LT/R04/RS%)
