Sinai, 3 Muharram 1434/7 November 2013 (MINA) – The Egyptian armed forces, included police personnel, killed three resident suspected militants in a security operative in Sinai on Wednesday (6/11).

The armed forces also torched four cars that did not have licence plates or registration papers, army spokesman Ahmed Ali stated on Thursday via his official Facebook page.

A military spokesman stated that it had also seized a number of weapons, including machine guns, RPGs and homemade grenades, Egypt’s Ahram reported as quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

They also destroyed sixty-one houses belonged to militants, Ali added.

Sinai has witnessed attacks on police and army personnel on an almost daily basis in response to the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July. Dozens of members of the security forces have been killed in the violence.
