Rafah, MINA – The Egyptian authorities on Monday afternoon closed the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip, saying a technical fault was behind its measure.
According to the competent authorities in Gaza, the crossing was closed in both directions until further notice due to a technical problem with telecommunication cables on the Egyptian side of the border, PIC reported.
Accordingly, all Palestinian passengers have been urged to visit the official Facebook page of the Rafah border crossing for updates on the issue.
The Egyptian authorities last month announced that the crossing would be kept open for the entire holy month of Ramadan for the travel of passengers in both directions.(R/R04/RS5)
