Dubai, MINA – A drone strike sparked a limited fire near the US Consulate in Dubai on Tuesday evening, local authorities have confirmed, as the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance continues to reverberate across the Gulf region.
The Dubai Media Office issued a statement on X, stating that relevant authorities had managed to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The strike on the vicinity of the US diplomatic mission comes amid a dramatic escalation in regional tensions. On Saturday, the US and Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iran, an offensive that has reportedly killed nearly 800 people, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top military officials.
In response, Tehran has launched sustained drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Gulf countries that host US military assets and facilities. Tuesday’s incident in Dubai appears to be part of this broader retaliatory campaign.[]
