CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TO ENTER GAZA TUESDAY

Gaza, 21 Dzulhijjah 1435/14 October 2014 (MINA) – Building materials to be used for the reconstruction of war-torn Gaza will enter the besieged enclave on Tuesday, a Palestinian official said.

Annother sources said, the process of entering construction materials into Gaza, in coordination with the United Nations.

The Minister of Civil Affairs, Hussein al-Sheikh, said cement, steel and gravel would enter Gaza as the first shipment in the process of reconstruction, Ma’an News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The materials will be distributed among the private sector according to previous agreements.

A crossings official said 15 trucks of cement, 10 trucks of steel, and 50 trucks of gravel will enter Gaza.

“Israeli authorities will also open the Kerem Shalom crossing to allow food and fuel to enter, together with 430 trucks of commercial and agricultural goods,” A crossings official added.

Israel has for the last eight years severely restricted all imports and exports, including basic supplies such as concrete.(T/P008/P3)
