Bus accident Claims 27 Lives in Subang, West Java

Bandung, West Java, MINA – A bus accident on Emen road in the district of Subang, Wes t Java Province, claimed 27 lives on Saturday afternoon.

“The number of fatalities is 27, and all of them are women. All of the passengers are woman,” Antara News quoted Mamat Budirakhmat, a spokesman of the Subang Regional Public Hospital (RSUD), a saying here, Sunday.

The Subang hospital is currently treating 18 injured passengers, including two women who are in very critical condition.

Several relatives of the victims have arrived in the hospital for identifications of the victims.

The bodies of the dead victims will be sent to their homes in Ciputat, South Tangerang, Banten Province, for funeral processions.

“The relatives of the victims have been arriving. They are now waiting in the hospital,” he said.

The tourist bus was carrying a number of women from Ciputat, for a holiday on Mount Tangkuban Perahu.

On the way home, the bus hit a motorcycle, and later bumped a hill and rolled over on a ramp road. (T/RS5/RS1)
