Jakarta, MINA – The Aqsa Working Group (AWG), a prominent Palestinian advocacy organization, has issued a scathing condemnation of the military strikes launched by the United States and Zionist Israel against Iran on February 28, 2026, which resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response to the escalation, the AWG reiterated its urgent demand that President Prabowo Subianto immediately withdraw Indonesia from the Board of Peace (BoP), a diplomatic forum established under the initiative of Donald Trump.
In an official statement received by MINA on Sunday, the AWG characterized the strikes as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The AWG argued that the US-Israeli aggression is not merely a unilateral act against a sovereign state, but a catalyst for destabilizing the broader Middle East. Furthermore, the AWG warned that the conflict risks diverting global attention away from the ongoing crisis in Palestine, specifically in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

“It is already evident that strict restrictions by Zionist Israeli forces prevented worshippers from filling Al-Aqsa Mosque for Tarawih prayers on February 28, marking a dark day for the Muslim Ummah. The Ibrahimi Mosque has also been completely blockaded under the pretext of security following Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Israel,” stated AWG Presidium Chairman Muhammad Anshorullah.
Anshorullah added that while Zionist Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are intensifying, they are receiving minimal media coverage as the world’s gaze remains fixed on the escalating confrontation between the US-Israel alliance and Iran.
Demand for Withdrawal from the Board of Peace
A central point of the AWG’s position is the demand for President Prabowo Subianto to cut ties with the BoP. Anshorullah argued that the strikes against Iran serve as definitive proof that the BoP is incapable of functioning as a legitimate instrument for global peace.

The statement specifically highlighted the role of US President Donald Trump as both the initiator of the forum and a primary actor in the military aggression against Iran. “This attack demonstrates that the BoP has lost all moral and legal legitimacy,” the statement read.
A Call for Global Solidarity
The AWG has called upon the international community—including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the United Nations, civil society organizations, and world leaders—to unite in halting military aggression against Iran and other nations, including Palestine.
The organization also drew parallels to interventions by major powers in countries like Venezuela, describing it as a global geopolitical pattern aimed at maintaining hegemony and perpetuating the occupation of Palestine.
