ARAFAT DAY ON OCT. 14

     Riyadh, 1 Dhul Hijjah 1434/6 October 2013 (MINA) – The Saudi Arabia Supreme Court establish on Saturday after its session that the Arafat Day will be on Monday (Oct. 14).

     The Court said in a statement following that a number of eyewitnesses have confirmed the sighting of the crescent on Saturday (Dhul Qada 29) evening, and hence Sunday (Oct. 6) will be the first day of Dhul Hijja. The first day of Eid Al-Adha would be Tuesday (Oct. 15), Saudi Gazette quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

     The Arafat Day, when about 2.5 million pilgrims converge in the plains of Arafat to mark the climax of the annual pilgrimage of Haj.

    Sighting of the Dhul Hijja crescent also coincides with the Umm Al-Qura calendar. According to the calendar, Haj begins on Sunday (Oct. 13) when pilgrims will gather in the tent city of Mina to spend a day and night there in preparation for their standing at Arafat, the most important ritual of Haj, the next day (Dhul Hijja 9).

     The Indonesian government set on Sunday (Oct. 6 ) is beginning of  month of Dhu al-Hijja 1434 H, so  feast of Eid al- Adha 10 Dhul Hijja 1434 H falls on October 15.

      The determination of appropriate ithbat trial initial results Dhul Hijja 1434 at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jakarta, Saturday night led Director General of Islamic Guidance, Abdul Djamil representing the Minister of Religious Affairs.

     Meanwhile , Imaam Jamaah Muslimin (Hezbollah) in Indonesia, Muhyiddin Hamidy determined that 1 Dhu al-Hijjah 1434 falls on Sunday (Oct. 6). The decission 1 Dhul Hijja is the basis of determining the 10th Dhul Hijja as Eid al-Adha.

     Hisab and Rukyat team of Jama’ah Muslimin (Hezbollah ) on Sunday morning received a report from several areas in Indonesia and also  other Muslim countries. (T/P09/P04).
