Ramallah, MINA – Up to 10,000 Palestinians have performed the Jumma (Friday) noon prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first in two weeks after Israel a day earlier removed all the security measures in place since July 14.

About 10,000 Palestinian managed to reach Al-Aqsa and performed the Jumaa prayers inside, KUNA reported, quoting the Palestinian Islamic Awqaf Department in a statement.

Thousands of Palestinians, mainly those under 50, had to perform the prayers in the streets and of Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the Israeli forces did not allow them to reach the Al-Aqsa complex.

Early on Friday, the Israelis applied restrictions on entry of Al-Aqsa banning Palestinian males less than 50 to enter, as large military reinforcements were deployed and barricades were fixed within the Mosque’s vicinity. (T/RS5/RS1)
