Indonesian Organisation Urges Israel to Obey UNESCO Resolution on Aqsa Mosque

Jakarta, MINA – The Al-Aqsa Working Group (AWG), an organization for Palestine has urged Israeli occupation authorities to reopen Al-Aqsa Mosque completely for all Muslim worshipers without any restrictions and conditions.

The AWG Secretary General Nur Ikhwan Abadi affirmed as the recently adopted UNESCO Resolution confirms all Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds City are Islamic holy sites, dedicated to places of worship and an inseparable part of the World Heritage Site.

According to him, the actions of the Israeli security authorities setting up checkpoints within the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex equipped with surveillance cameras and metal detection doors are extremely off-limits.

“We urge the Zionist entity (Israel) to leave Al-Aqsa soon. We also urge Jewish extremists to stop all acts and attacks that desecrate the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, “Nur Ikhwan told the Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) here Tuesday (18/07/2017).

Nur Ikhwan also said, his side called on Muslims around the world to take a united stance and hold joint action in the struggle to save Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“To all Muslims let us to join forces and raise funds together in an effort to restore the Muslims’ rights to Al-Aqsa. It is important for Muslims to carry out jihad both with wealth and soul in this matter, “he said.

Nur Ikhwan declared AWG’s determination to keep abreast with the issue of closing the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupation authority and precisely condemning the violation of the rights of Muslims to worship at one of the most respected Islamic historic sites.  (T/RE1/RS5)
