Gaza, 9 Shawwal 1435/5 August 2014 (MINA) – Medicines crisis in Gaza is getting worse, said Dr. Ashraf Abu Mahadi, Director General of Pharmaceutical Affairs of Palestinian Health Ministry to Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s correspondent in Gaza, Monday.

“At least 100 types of medicines and other medical needs are not available at all. Finally, we use alternative medicines with more expensive price. There is no other choice for us,” said Abu Mahadi.

Abu Mahadi stated that the escalation of Israeli occupation regime attacks worsened medicines crisis in Gaza.

Abu Mahadi revealed the situation had never occurred before. His authority had asked help to international community.

“We have announced the problem to various media in order that our voices are heard,” he said.

“We need support, especially medicine to care victims we’re handling. We need medicine and medical devices continuously both during war and after war. It is because the victims need further treatment,” he said.

He also called on Muslims in the world especially in Indonesia to stand together with their brothers in Gaza.

“We appreciated Indonesia for establishing an Indonesian Hospital in north of Gaza,” Abu Mahadi added.
