Ramallah, MINA – A total of 900 fire incidents targeting homes, buildings, vehicles, and properties belonging to Palestinians have been recorded in the occupied West Bank from January 2023 to July 10, 2026, according to the Palestinian Commission of Resistance against the Colonization Wall and Settlements.

Data from the commission, reported by Wafa on Sunday, shows that nearly 89 percent of cases were linked to Israeli settlers, who were responsible for 799 incidents (88.8 percent). The remaining 101 cases (11.2 percent) were attributed to Israeli occupation forces. The fires have struck not only homes but also vehicles, agricultural land, and various facilities essential to Palestinian livelihoods.

The commission described the arson as a form of pressure on Palestinians, targeting their security, property, and sources of livelihood. The situation unfolds as settler violence in the West Bank continues to escalate. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that since the start of 2026, over 1,040 Palestinians have been injured in settler attacks.

During the week of August 12–18 alone, OCHA documented at least 29 settler attacks causing casualties or property damage across 23 communities. Damage has included homes, vehicles, farmland, water and electricity networks, as well as disrupted access to basic facilities. In August, several Palestinian families were forced to leave their homes after settlers burned residential buildings and livelihood facilities.

The surge in attacks coincides with Israeli settlement expansion and the emergence of new settlement outposts in various West Bank areas. International institutions and human rights groups have repeatedly warned of the impact of settler violence on Palestinians, viewing the arson and attacks not merely as material damage but as threats to their survival and access to land and livelihoods in the West Bank.[]
