Tel Aviv, MINA – Israeli occupation military officials have acknowledged that their offensive against Iran can only be sustained for a limited period, with current planning estimating major operations to continue for approximately three more weeks, according to reports by KAN, Israel’s public broadcaster.
Brigadier General Effie Defrin, a military spokesperson, stated that Israeli forces still have thousands of military targets in Iran slated for attack in the coming weeks. He confirmed that the military has prepared follow-up operational plans expected to last at least three weeks as airstrikes continue against various strategic Iranian facilities.
According to international media reports, Israel assesses its military campaign remains far from complete, citing numerous targets across Iranian territory including command centers, military infrastructure, and facilities allegedly linked to weapons programs.
The operation forms part of a broader offensive launched in late February 2026 under the code name “Lion’s Roar.”

However, several Israeli security sources have acknowledged that the war’s progression has not fully aligned with initial expectations. Internal evaluations are reportedly underway as operational pace has slowed compared to early planning when strikes were first launched.
The Iran-Israel conflict, which erupted in late February, has triggered widespread escalation across the Middle East. Iran has reportedly retaliated with hundreds of ballistic missiles and thousands of drones targeting Israel and United States military installations in the region.
The war has also generated global repercussions, including disruptions to energy shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz and a surge in world oil prices.
Regional tensions continue to mount as Western nations and United States allies weigh the extent of their involvement in the evolving conflict.[]
