Gaza, MINA – A Palestinian woman was killed on Wednesday evening after being shot by Israeli forces in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported that Israeli troops opened fire in the area, killing the woman and injuring another person. The incident adds to the growing number of casualties reported across the Gaza Strip on the same day.
Earlier on Wednesday, two Palestinians were also killed by Israeli army fire in the town of Bani Suheila, located east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza. With these incidents, the number of people killed in Gaza since Wednesday morning has risen to three, while several others were reported wounded.
Local authorities say Israeli forces continue to violate the ceasefire in Gaza through artillery shelling, airstrikes, and gunfire that has affected civilian areas.

At the same time, municipal authorities across Gaza are warning of a looming collapse of essential public services due to a severe fuel shortage. The Union of Gaza Strip Municipalities said Israeli authorities have kept border crossings closed since the beginning of the week, preventing the entry of fuel needed to operate key municipal services.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the union warned that the fuel crisis could paralyze services for nearly two million residents in the Gaza Strip, where humanitarian conditions have already worsened after two years of war and widespread infrastructure damage.
Husni Mehanna, spokesperson for Gaza Municipality, said municipalities have already been forced to halt street-clearing operations and the removal of war debris because heavy machinery can no longer operate without fuel.
He added that waste collection services have also been reduced in central Gaza City and surrounding areas, leading to growing piles of garbage and the emergence of informal dumping sites in residential neighborhoods.

According to Mehanna, the accumulation of waste has increased the spread of insects and rodents, raising serious public health concerns for residents.
Municipal authorities have also reduced the operating hours of backup generators used for water wells and sewage pumping stations, which has limited water supply to residents and caused sewage leaks in several parts of the city due to damaged infrastructure.
Officials warned that the situation could escalate into a major environmental and health crisis if fuel supplies are not restored soon.
Mehanna called on the international community to intervene and pressure Israel to reopen the crossings and allow the entry of fuel, heavy machinery, and technical equipment required to maintain essential municipal services.
