Stockholm, MINA – Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in central Stockholm on Saturday to protest Israel’s continued military actions in Gaza and accuse it of violating the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, Anadolu Agency reported.
The protest, held at Odenplan Square and organized by several civil society groups, saw participants carrying banners with messages such as “Children are being killed in Gaza,” “Schools and hospitals are being bombed,” and “End food shortages.” Many waved Palestinian flags during the demonstration.
A key demand from the crowd was for the Swedish government to end all arms exports to Israel. Swedish activist Robin Nillson, speaking to Anadolu, stated that the protests would continue until a lasting peace is achieved.
Nillson criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies, highlighting the severe human toll of the conflict. “Despite a severe humanitarian crisis and mass deaths, we have yet to see concrete change,” he said, adding that Netanyahu only agreed to the ceasefire under international pressure.

The activist also expressed alarm over media reports suggesting the war could continue until the end of 2026. “If the situation does not improve, we will persist with mass protests and acts of civil disobedience next year,” Nillson warned.
According to Palestinian health authorities, Israeli military offensives since October 2023 have killed over 71,200 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 171,200 others. Protesters and aid agencies note that despite the ceasefire, living conditions in Gaza have not significantly improved, with Israel failing to fully meet its commitments to allow sufficient food, aid, medical supplies, and temporary housing into the besieged enclave.[]
