Gaza, MINA — The Israeli occupation military announced on Monday that the remains of another hostage were transferred by the Palestinian group Hamas to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza as part of the ongoing ceasefire agreement.
According to an army statement, as quoted by Anadolu Agency, the coffin containing the deceased captive’s body is being transported to Israeli troops within the enclave.
Later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that “Israel has received, via the Red Cross, a coffin containing the remains of a deceased hostage, which was handed over to an IDF and ISA force inside the Gaza Strip.”
Hamas had earlier stated its intention to hand over the remains of an Israeli hostage on Monday night under the ceasefire deal.

The first phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into effect on October 10, as part of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan. Since then, Hamas has released 20 living Israeli hostages and the bodies of 17 out of 28 deceased captives, mostly Israelis. However, Israeli authorities previously reported that one of the retrieved bodies did not match any of its missing captives.
The ceasefire plan also includes provisions for the reconstruction of Gaza and the creation of a new governing body that excludes Hamas.
According to Palestinian officials, Israel’s ongoing military aggression in Gaza has killed over 68,500 people and injured more than 170,300 since October 2023.[]
