Jakarta, MINA — A shallow earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 has rocked parts of Indonesia’s Central Java province, damaging homes and injuring several people, AAP reported, quoting an official.

Wednesday’s quake struck at a depth of 4km, with the epicentre 52km north of Kebumen district, Sutopo Nugroho, a spokesman for the National Disaster Management Agency, (BNPB) said.

Several houses, a school and a mosque were damaged in Banjarnegara district, he said.

“Several residents were injured after they were hit by falling debris,” Nugroho said.
