JEWISH SETTLERS ATTACK WEST BANK VILLAGE

     Nablus, 20 Shafar 1434/02 January 2013 (SPA/MINA) – Jewish settlers attacked the West Bank village of Qusra -southeast of Nablus- early Tuesday. damaged homes and uprooted around 200 olive trees, said a witness.

     They said the settlers crept into the village after midnight and attacked a residence belonging to Abdul Majeed Hasan, whom along with village residents, confronted the settlers and were able to push them back but not before causing damage to the house.

    The residents said the settlers uprooted dozens of olive trees and cut many others, according to a report published in the Palestinian News and Information Agency “WAFA”

     The settlers, then, repeated their attack on the village Tuesday morning, but this time under Israeli army protection, and attacked the Palestinian village residents who tried to defend themselves and their village.

     Residents said soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas at the people causing a number of light injuries, including a photojournalist who was hit by a rubber bullet. (T/R-020/R-006)
