Turkish Aid Agency Distributes Tablets in Palestine

Jerusalem, MINA – Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) distributed tablets to 300 pupils and 30 teachers at Riyad al-Aqsa schools in East Jerusalem on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, while carrying out the school’s maintenance and repair, the agency distributed the tablets to students who are mostly poor and orphans.

TIKA Palestine Program Coordinator Bulent Korkmaz said that hundreds of pupils were studying at the schools that give education in elementary, middle, and high school levels.

“These schools are non-profit and most of the pupils are poor and orphans. As TIKA, we support these schools in every way,” Korkmaz said.

General Director of Riyad al-Aqsa schools Adeel al-Hallaq said that Turkey has always stood beside Palestine.

Al-Hallaq also said Turkey supported the development of the schools as well as the continuity of Palestinian presence in the holy city of Jerusalem. (R/R04/RS5)
