Thousands of Settlers Converge on Al-Buraq Square, 382 Defiled Al-Aqsa

Occupied Jerusalem, MINA – Thousands of Israeli settlers on Wednesday performed Talmudic rituals in Al-Buraq Square near Al-Aqsa Mosque amid heavy police presence.

The PIC reporter said that thousands of Israeli settlers have flocked to al-Buraq Square since the early morning hours on the third day of Sukkot holiday.

Meanwhile, 382 Israeli settlers defiled Al-Aqsa Mosque and harassed Palestinian worshipers who were in the site, PIC reported.

Earlier in the day, Israeli police forces were deployed in large numbers in Jerusalem in preparation for Israeli settlers’ celebrations and mass break-ins. Israeli police announced that all roads leading to the Old City of Jerusalem will be closed from 6 am to 8 pm.

Jerusalem researcher Fakhri Abu Diab told the PIC reporter that Jewish holidays are one of the Jerusalemite citizens’ biggest nightmares, especially that they are usually accompanied by harassment, provocative actions, and attacks by Israeli settlers on Arab neighborhoods in the holy city.

“Attempts are in full swing to impose a Talmudic culture on Jerusalem by closing roads, raising Israel’s flags on them, and allowing more settler break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque,” he said.

Hebrew TV channel Seven reported that over 15,000 Jewish notables in the United States are set to arrive in Jerusalem this week and visit what they call “Temple Mount”.(R/R04/)
