Seven World Leaders Arriving on Sunday for ASEAN Summit

Manila, Philippines — Seven out of 20 heads of state will arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sunday to attend the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Manila.

According to the STAR, Airport sources said the seven foreign leaders who will land at NAIA on board their official aircraft are US President Donald Trump, Premier Li Keqiang of China, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, President Moon Jae-in of South Korea, President Ram Nath Kovind of India, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei and President Halimah Yacob of Singapore.

The other foreign heads of state will arrive at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga.

Sources said that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) would not issue a notice to airmen (notam), just an operational or priority landing allowing disembarcation at the NAIA tarmac without ceremonies.

The Philippines will host the 31st ASEAN Summit in Manila and Clark in Pampanga on Nov. 11 to 14.

The East Asia Summit on Nov. 14 will be attended by the heads of state of the ASEAN member-countries and dialogue partners that include Australia, Canada, China, European Union, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Russia and United States. (T/RS5/RS1)
